If you have not yet started a blog, then do so. Visit a
site like Blogger.com or Wordpress.com, where you can set
up a free blog. Even better than starting a free blog is
to get your own domain name and some inexpensive hosting
and set up your blog there. It takes a little bit more
technical knowhow, but even those who do not have a great
deal of computer experience can generally figure it out
(and there is plenty of online information about how to
go about it). Blogs are a great way of making some online
impact, as they are very easy to use and update. Unlike
traditional websites, where to add new pages you need to
create the page in html (using an html editor program
such as Dreamweaver), and you then need to upload it to
the Internet, and create links to it from other pages on
your website. If you have got a blog you just create a
new post, click a button, and bingo, it is up there on
your site, ready for the world to read.


The trick with blogs is that they need to be updated
regularly (every day if possible) and promoted when they
are updated. Of course, when you do post to your blog,
you need to post relevant, useful information about the
product you are promoting, or the concept you are
selling. The best way of generating leads is not to use
your blog as a "sales pitch" so to speak, rather as a
forum for teaching people and giving them useful
information about a topic which may be of interest to
them. If you are trying to generate leads for an MLM
business opportunity, naturally you will want to discuss
topics that are relevant to your business. You will want
to provide people with interesting, factual information
about your business, and perhaps a bit about you too!


You are using your blog to find qualified leads, this
means you are looking for people who will be interested
in the business you are promoting. The more useful,
informative, personalized information you include, the
more likely you will be to find people who will want to
read more and who will want to get more information from
you (of course you will provide a link to your sales
website or affiliate page for the program you are
promoting).


Naturally, to get traffic to your blog, you need to
promote your blog (you need to let people and the search
engines know your blog exists). A simple way of doing
this is visit a pinging service every time you update
your blog (for example, pingomatic.com). Another thing
you can do to promote your blog is to create articles
which you submit to free article directories which
provide readers with real, useful information, and which
also contain links to your blog where people can find out
more. Creating useful links to your blog will help both
real people and the search engines find it.


It may take some time to get traffic to your blog, but
once you do, the rewards will be well worth it. However,
once you do start getting real traffic, do not sit back
and rest on your laurels. You may not have to update your
blog quite as often, but in order to keep ranking highly
in the search engines, you do need to provide updates
every so often.
